Hi and welcome to Fun In Our Universe, the place where you'll find real answers to the real questions of our time. My goal: give people better information because better understanding equals better fun.

So...It's a strange time we live in (I know, I don't have to tell you..) I am constantly amazed at how we are supposed to be living in this big amusement park called Earth, you know, having FUN, yet it seems some folks just don't get it. Clueless.!?

There was an episode of Star Trek (original 1960's series) where Kirk, Spock, Sulu, McCoy and others beam down to this paradise of a planet for some shore leave. They find themselves walking around this bucolic place, thinking about times past, present and future. Within minutes there are disturbances, Sulu is stabbed, McCoy's lost love appears, and Kirk's rival from his Starship Academy days comes alive to fight him. They each have a complete experience with their own materialized thoughts, before realizing that RIGHT BEFORE EACH EXPERIENCE THEY WERE THINKING ABOUT THAT VERY EXPERIENCE.

Pure genius. Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek, hired wonderful writers, and the writer of this episode was no exception. He wanted to get the concept, idea, factoid, across to a 1960's audience that we each think about a thing and then create it. I believe the information escaped a large portion of that audience. Does it escape you? Probably not. By now you are aware that your thoughts create all the time.
